One more day of mild temperatures is expected Wednesday before temperatures plummet to 5 degrees by the weekend.

“It’s going to be another nice day, similar to yesterday,” said Bernie Meier, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The high temperature is expected to reach 43 degrees Wednesday in the Denver metro area, with increasing clouds in the afternoon.

A storm system will enter the southwest part of the state Wednesday. By Thursday morning, snow flurries are expected along the Front Range, Meier said.

Forecasters do not anticipate large accumulations of snow on Thursday and Friday.

“We can’t rule out heavier snowfalls for that time frame,” Meier said.

The high temperature is expected to be 34 on Thursday and only 20 by Saturday. The low temperature Saturday is expected to be 5 degrees.
