George T. “Joe” Sakato, who died last month, was an amazing hero and warrior. This was a gentleman who sacrificed so much, being of Japanese descent and serving the United States during World War II. A Medal of Honor recipient, and a man of immeasurable courage, Sakato must be remembered with care and conviction. Please accept this quiet “thank you” from a Vietnam veteran.
