A 31-year-old parolee was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison for robbery and attempted sex assault of a 72-year-old woman.

Terron Lamar Guy pleaded guilty in October after being linked to the attack by DNA evidence, according to an Arapahoe County District Attorney’s Office media release.

Guy, in the early morning hours of April 20, 2015, attacked the woman as she was getting into her car, near her home.

Prosecutors said Guy grabbed the victim from behind, covered her mouth, and threatened to hurt her if she cried out for help.

Guy beat the victim and attempted to sexually assault her. He fled, on foot, with her purse.

Guy, who has been designated a sexually violent predator, pleaded guilty to attempted sex assault of an at risk victim. He will be placed on five years probation after his release from prison.
