Jordan Karels, a senior at Fairview in Boulder, has committed verbally to play football at Western State, according to Knights coach Tom McCartney.
Karels, a defensive back, is 6-foot-2, 178 pounds. He was in on 29 tackles the past season, recorded an interception and blocked a field goal.
The Knights were 7-3 in 2015 and lost in the preliminary round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
