
1 The diversion. Two men went up to the cash register at the Circle K at 22998 E. Smoky Hill Road on Jan. 8. They split up, and one suspect asked for a pack of cigarettes while the other went behind the counter and pushed the change dispensing machine to take out $40.
2 Wallet thief hunt. At a house party in the 3300 block of South Ouray Way on Jan. 17, two people reported that their wallets were stolen. The responding officer called several people who each accused each other of stealing the wallets, but no one ever admitted to taking them.
3 Morning surprise. A man who lives in the 17000 block of East Eldorado Circle called police Jan. 9 because he woke up and noticed that someone drove their car through his front yard fence. An approximately 5-foot section of the fence was destroyed, and the suspect fled.
4 Out too late. Neighbors of a couple who live in the 12700 block of East Asbury Circle called police Jan. 16 because the two were yelling at each other. Apparently, the boyfriend came home late and his girlfriend had packed up all of his belongings and told him to leave. The two were separated.
5 Late night window smashing. Police were called to Aspenwood Apartments, 572 N. Potomac St., on Jan. 3 because someone drove up to the leasing office at 4 a.m. and threw rocks through the windows. A resident who lived above the office heard the vandalism.
6 Stolen crates. The manager of Sprouts at 15405 E. Briarwood Circle called police Jan. 5 because someone stole $1,500 in storage crates from the store.
