
1 Lifted loo. A man living in the 9800 block of Goldfinch Lane, Highlands Ranch, reported that a toilet was stolen from his home sometime between Jan. 8 and 11. He said that he is renovating the property and had three new toilets in boxes stored in the garage. He believed a thief entered the garage and made off with the $150 toilet one day when he was doing chores outside.
2 Creepy peeper. A resident of the 8400 block of Canyon Rim Circle, Douglas County, spotted a young man on his patio peering through his bathroom window Jan. 19. His wife was showering at the time. The man ran away when spotted.
3 Best bike bagged. A man living in the 6000 block of Blue Ridge Drive, Highlands Ranch, reported that one of the three bikes he keeps on his patio had been stolen Jan. 18. All three bikes had been covered by a tarp and chain locked together. The thief used bolt cutters to break the chain and took only the victim’s $1,000 Specialized carbon fiber frame bike.
4 Vending machine, here I come. A woman living in the 10600 block of Skydance Drive, Highlands Ranch, found the dome lights on in the back of her van Jan. 20. She believes someone came into her garage when her husband left the door ajar earlier that morning. A bag of $10 in loose change was taken.
5 Cable bills are crazy these days. A Douglas County man received a bill Jan. 21 saying that he owed CenturyLink $1,768.81 for an active account in Florida. He refused to pay the collection agency and lost no money before reporting the fraud. (Not on map.)
