Metro Denver bumped Seattle to rank as the sixth most-popular destination for people who rent moving vans, according to .

Atlanta remained the most popular destination for do-it-yourself movers, followed by Phoenix, Tampa, Fla., Dallas and Orlando, Fla., the company said.

Penske compiled its survey by looking at where people who make a one-way rental of its vans were headed. In 2014, metro Denver ranked seventh among U.S. cities.

The study defines Colorado as a balanced state for migration, with 2,434 moves into the state and 2,130 moves out in 2015.

The states with the highest inbound share last year were Oregon, Idaho, North Carolina, Alaska and North Dakota.

Hawaii, New York, Illinois, South Dakota and Wyoming had the highest share of outbound movers.
