Long before Michael Hancock became the mayor of Denver, he went by another title: Huddles, the Broncos’ mascot.
A senior in high school, Hancock was a part of the 1986 Broncos team that advanced to Super Bowl XXI, .
“Huddles was the name, a horse on his hind legs, with a big helmet,” . “I was a senior in high school, and I spent the season as Huddles.”
Hancock added: “That was a real treat to go to the Super Bowl with this team. I’m just a big, big fan and always have been.”
