SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Led by Von Miller and the defense, the Broncos won Super Bowl 50, 24-10, on Sunday to give Pat Bowlen his third ring. Some stats and records of note from the big game:
194: Net yards by the Broncos, the fewest for a victorious team in a Super Bowl. The previous low was 244 by the Ravens in their win over the Giants in Super Bowl XXXV in 2001.
6th: The Broncos were the sixth team in Super Bowl history to win the title without throwing a touchdown pass. The 1998 Broncos, led by John Elway, were the first to do so, in their Super Bowl XXXII victory over the Packers.
39: Age of Peyton Manning, making him the oldest starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
1st: Manning is the first quarterback to start and win Super Bowls for two different teams. He won his first with the Colts, in 2007.
200: Career wins (186 regular season, 14 postseason) by Manning after Super Bowl 50, putting him past Brett Favre (199).
10th: Miller was the 10th defensive player in history to be named Super Bowl MVP. Miller, the second pick in the 2011 draft, battered the No. 1 pick that year, Cam Newton, recording 2.5 sacks, six total tackles, two forced fumbles, two quarterback hurries and one pass defensed.
7,339: Manning’s career postseason passing yards, trailing only Tom Brady (7,957).
9: Years between Manning’s first Super Bowl title (XLI) and second. Only Brady has had a longer gap as a quarterback, between XXXIX and XLIX, at 11 years.
1st: Gary Kubiak became the first coach to win a Super Bowl for the same team for which he was a player in the Super Bowl. He joins Tom Flores (Raiders) and Mike Ditka (Bears) as the third coach in history to win the Super Bowl as a head coach for a team he played for.
4th: Kubiak became the fourth coach to win a Super Bowl in his first year as the head coach of that team.
61: Yards of Jordan Norwood’s second-quarter punt return, the longest in Super Bowl history.
7: Sacks by the Broncos’ defense, tied for the most in a Super Bowl. The Bears set the record in Super Bowl XX (1985).
11: Victories by teams wearing white jerseys in the last 12 Super Bowls.
11: Broncos wins decided by seven or few points this season, including the postseason, an NFL record. Their 14-point margin in Super Bowl 50 tied their second-largest of the season.
