Gary Kubiak became the first man to play in one Super Bowl and coach the same team in another.
Just two years ago, Kubiak had been fired from the Houston Texans and wasn’t sure he wanted to continue coaching. After spending a season as the Ravens’ offensive coordinator, Kubiak got a call from his former teammate general manager John Elway. He offered Kubiak’s dream job.
Both got a Super Bowl victory as a reward for their hard work and diligence.
“This is my football home,” Kubiak said. “I had the opportunity to come back here and being on that bus today, driving through that parade makes it hard to believe. It was special.”
The Broncos embodied Kubiak’s gritty, tough personality all season. It got them a lot of really big rings.
