A Douglas County Schools bus was involved in a traffic accident Tuesday afternoon. Three students were injured.
Three students on the bus were evaluated at the scene and then driven by parents in private vehicles to a hospital as a precautionary measure, said Sgt. Lori Bronner, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
A passenger in the vehicle struck by the school bus was also taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle, Bronner said.
Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
The accident happened at about 4 p.m. near the intersection of Wolfensberger Road and Peak View Drive just just outside Castle Rock, said Paula Hans, a Douglas County School District spokeswoman.
Nineteen students, from Castle Rock Middle School and Castle View High School were on the bus.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
