will once again headline Red Rocks Amphitheatre this year as the summer lineup during the historic venue’s 75th anniversary continues to impress.
Adams will play Red Rocks on August 17, and will be joined by alternative noodler Kurt Vile and his band, the Violators. Tickets are $45-$55 and go on sale Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. via .
Though not advertised as a double-bill, Adams and Vile is the latest in a run of loaded shows this summer at Red Rocks. In June, will play together; later that month, will share the stage. Late July sees the Avett Brothers play with J. Mascis, and at the end of August, . Even that’s leaving out a lot of impressive shows.

And so it goes with Ryan Adams. There is nothing careful or predictable about what he does. He spurns the idea of artistic fluency with a hard-nosed affront. Sometimes he even gambles with experimental unevenness. And fails badly. Crash, burn, and revival might be the only predictable algorithms in his circuitry.
