ASPEN — A 23-year-old events planner from Vail was arrested Monday and charged with felony possession of cocaine after a waitress heard her doing the drug in the bathroom of a downtown bar, according to court documents.

Ann Carpenter and a friend entered the Belly Up bathroom late Monday night. One was carrying a beer and one had a handmark indicating she was underage, according to a police report filed in District Court.

A security guard asked a waitress to follow them inside the bathroom, the report states. The waitress heard a snorting sound coming from the stall the two women entered and security staff questioned them when they returned to the bar area.

Carpenter later allowed police to search her wallet. They found a baggie she said contained cocaine and that later tested positive for the drug. She was then arrested and taken to jail.
