
1 Valentine’s surprise. A couple had fallen asleep in their home in the 6400 block of East 62nd Avenue, Commerce City, when they heard a knock on the bedroom window Feb. 14. It was the man’s ex-girlfriend. He opened the front door and the ex demanded some clothes that she gave him, pushing past him and into the house. She grabbed the clothes and then punched his new girlfriend in the face before running off.
2 The pain of disappointment. Police responded to the 9200 block of Federal Boulevard, Federal Heights, because a man said his drunken brother punched him in the face Jan. 19. Officers asked the victim if he felt any pain, and he said, “only the pain of having a bum brother.”
3 Party shots. Residents in the 8400 block of Kalamath Court, Federal Heights, called police Jan. 17 because they heard gunshots. Several bullet casings were collected from outside a loud house party in the area.
4 Lo-Jack track. A police officer was aiding an Adams County Sheriff’s Deputy in tracking a stolen Honda that was found in a McDonald’s drive-thru at West 74th Avenue and North Federal Boulevard, Federal Heights, on Jan. 20. The thief drove by officers and got away.
5 Schnapps in the park. A patrolling police officer caught a man drinking peppermint schnapps at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 6150 Parkway Drive, Commerce City,on Feb. 12 and cited him.
6 Concerned strangers. People at the 7-Eleven at 6966 Dahlia St., Commerce City, called police Feb. 13 because a couple was arguing nearby. The couple told officers that they weren’t in danger.
