Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians weighed in on the controversy surrounding Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and his alleged sexual harassment of Dr. Jamie Naughright at Tennessee in 1996.

According to a couple tweets by Bob Glauber, an NFL columnist for New York’s Newsday, Arians said, “If we’re all going to get nitpicked for what we did in college, we’re all in trouble. This was a bigger story because of who he is and what he just did, not what happened back then.”

A 20-year-old story, Manning’s alleged sexual harassment has resurfaced in part due to an article published by New York Daily News columnist Shaun King, which contained a 74-page court document he received from an unnamed source on the incident between Manning, Naughright and other athletes who were at the University of Tennessee.

The incident in 1996 is also being cited in by student athletes, especially football players.
