Car-sharing service has arrived in Stapleton.

Four car-sharing vehicles are now available in the east Denver neighborhood for use by the hour or the day, located in designated pick-up and drop-off spots throughout the neighborhood, the company announced Tuesday:

• East 29th Place and Central Park Boulevard

• East 29th Avenue and Roslyn Street

• East 29th Place and Roslyn Street

• East 32nd Avenue and Syracuse Street

“Zipcar is thrilled to be expanding our ‘wheels when you want them’ service to Stapleton, for residents, businesses and visitors and enabling them to live a car-free or car-lite lifestyle,” Zipcar market manager Nicole Dalmy said in a statement.

Stapleton’s fleet includes a Ford Explorer SUV, subcompact Honda Fit and a Suburu Crosstrek. In addition to gas, insurance and 180 miles of driving per day, all Stapleton vehicles also include Zipcar’s new flexible features, which allow for one-way or round-trip use, as well as indefinite extension of reservations.

A subsidiary of Avis Budget Group Inc., Zipcar now has more than 70 vehicles in its Denver car-share fleet, in locations including downtown, West Highland, Boulder and Denver International Airport.

Zipcar’s announcement comes six months after r in Denver, consolidating into the city’s core and eliminating neighborhoods such as North Park Hill, West Colfax and Washington Park.
