Otter Products cut an undisclosed number of jobs last week, the Fort Collins-based maker of tablet and smartphone cases confirmed.

The action, first reported by the , follows a round of layoffs in July when a “small number of jobs” were affected. The , citing sources close to the situation, reported the layoffs were in the range of 65 to 80 employees.

“As the leader in our industry, we watch market conditions closely and react accordingly,” Kristen Tatti, an company spokeswoman wrote in an e-mail to the Denver Post. “To ensure we remain nimble and ahead of the competition, Otter Products restructured certain departments resulting in some roles being eliminated.”

Tatti declined to disclose specific numbers of affected employees or what aspects of the businesses were shuffled.

The company brand last June, leaving such cases to LifeProof, a San Diego firm Otter Products . At the time, with about 850 in Colorado.

As of Monday, the company had not filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice with the state, which is required for mass layoffs and site closures.

The company employs more than 600 people in Fort Collins and has offices in Frederick and San Diego.
