If you were lucky enough, you made it into Longmont’s gymnasium on Saturday.
A sold-out crowd that had lined up for hours to get into Longmont’s Class 4A Great 8 matchup against Mead wasn’t disappointed. The Trojans downed the Mavericks 55-45 to advance to this week’s final four in Boulder.
Now 25-1, Longmont, which was runner-up a year ago and went into the final undefeated, rode 19 points by Justinian Jessup. Mead’s Walker Korell led all scorers with 21 points.
Longmont led 32-91 at halftime.
VALOR CHRISTIAN 73, WINDSOR 69
In Highlands Ranch, the Wizards actually though they made a game-tying 3-pointer, but instead were whistled for a 5-second violation.
Valor Christian, now 24-2, was led in a close one by Jalen Sanders (26 points), Jeremy Randle (17), Dylan McCaffrey (14) and Kayle Knuckles (10). Windsor, which ended 19-7, was topped by Jake Hammond (17), Noah Baldwin (15) and Michael Scheid (11).
VISTA RIDGE 52, LEWIS-PALMER 47
In Colorado Springs, Hunter Maldonado scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Wolves knocked off the Rangers.
Vista Ridge used an 18-9 surge in the third quarter to take command.
The Wolves are 20-6. Lewis-Palmer, which ended 24-2, had won 23 games in a row.
PUEBLO WEST 79, DENVER SOUTH 67
In Pueblo, the Cyclones moved to 23-3 by handling the Rebels (19-7).
