At a moment when Denver’s outdoorsy lifestyle has lured U.S. News and World Report to rank us the best place to live in the entire country, D.R. Horton is doubling down on that allure with an offering of 57 sites that back to Castle Rock’s new ‘adventure park,’ and to well over 10 miles of trail that wrap the scenic buttes to the west.

You can preview that enclave today, along with two fetching model homes (including a ranch) that have prominent indoor-outdoor living components to tie to the surroundings.

Park Preserve by D.R. Horton is on the west side of Castle Rock, a mile-and-a-half west of I-25 on Wolfensberger Road, the town’s second exit. “This is like beachfront property on the open space,” says D.R. Horton’s Sandy Speedy – adding that the location offers access to the freeway, and particularly good proximity to Castle Rock’s historic downtown, with one-of-kind dining spots like B&B Café and Castle Café.

You can get the whole lifestyle picture today starting with a tour of the models – including an ‘Amber’ 2-story with a fourth bedroom suite on the main level and with an optional basement finish, the home can include up to 6 bedrooms. It delivers 3,350 square feet from $569,950, showing an option for a marvelous 2-sided fireplace that links the family area to the outdoor spaces; and the best master bedroom suite you’ve seen all year – with a circular vestibule entry, giant closet space, a huge retreat, and a copious walk-in shower.

Speedy will point to the ridgetops south of the model where you can see zip-line towers in Philip S. Miller Park, the town’s successful new adventure-themed park, and to a cul-de-sac where D.R. Horton has six homes underway for summer delivery. Look west, where Wolfensberger Road heads over the crest toward the national forest and you’ll see a bike bridge taking shape that’ll link the area to miles of additional Ridgeline Trail.

Then drive southeast on Plum Creek Parkway a mile to the park’s entry, and take a quick hike up its very popular, 200-step ‘Challenge Hill’ with a view of its trails, soccer fields and kids’ adventure sites. That will work up an appetite for brunch at the B&B Café on downtown’s Wilcox Street.
D.R Horton’s Speedy suggests you take a close look at these larger lots (numerous opportunities for walkout basements) and this pricing, right now from the high $400s. To reach Park Preserve and the models opening today, take I-25 south to Castle Rock’s Wilcox Street/Wolfensberger exit, turn west on Wolfensberger a mile and a half, just past Plum Creek Parkway, to D.R. Horton’s entryway. All distances and measurements are approximate; prices and availabilities are subject to change without notice; D.R. Horton is an equal housing opportunity builder.
