Re: An age limit for federal judges, March 8 letter to the editor.

US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who was appointed by President Reagan, is 79 years old. (Mandel Ngan, AFP/Getty Images)

I strongly disagree with the idea that Supreme Court justices should be retired at age 70. Somebody said a long time ago that with age comes wisdom. With age also comes dignity, patience, tolerance, balance and appreciation of the important things which make life worth living. All of these qualities certainly contribute to a good judge becoming ever better and ever more suited to be a seasoned justice on our Supreme Court. Besides, don t forget, 70 is the new 40.
