
1 Drunken driver crashes crack party. A man was pulled over Feb. 24 in the 1300 block of Yukon Street in Lakewood on suspicion of DUI. He told police he had been drinking Fireball whiskey and beer all day, but had to drive drunk to give his girlfriend a ride home after forcing her to leave a crack smoking party. He was arrested on multiple charges.
2 Steak thief busted. Police issued a shoplifting summons Feb. 24 to a man caught leaving Walmart, 7455 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood, with steaks, chips and soda valued at $60.
3 Police release liar. Residents in the area of South Brentwood Street near West First Avenue in Lakewood reported a suspicious man ringing doorbells and looking in windows Feb. 24. The man repeatedly gave officers a false name and, because of a recent string of daytime burglaries in the area, was arrested and then released with a summons for providing false information.
4 Drugs, stolen goods seized. Police tracked down two suspects seen leaving Sears, 10758 W. Colfax Ave., on Jan. 26 with stolen watches and headphones. One was ticketed, the other arrested after officers found meth and drug paraphernalia on him.
5 Mother disrespected. A woman in the 800 block of Union Street in Lakewood told police Feb. 24 that her son became enraged when asked how he broke the microwave. He then smashed an $800 coffee table and glassware before punching her in the head three times. The son was arrested.
6 Day drinker arrested. Police arrested a woman for DUI at Bear Creek Lake Park, 15300 W. Morrison Road, the afternoon of Feb. 25.
