Move over Jermaine Jones. The biggest star at the Rapids’ 2016 jersey launch party event on Thursday was none other than RapidMan.
The brawny, blue mascot who retired in 2007 made his triumphant return Thursday, flashing his signature smile behind dark sunglasses.
And that’s when Rapids fans pretty much lost it.

But the question remains: Was this a one-time cameo appearance or the return of the Rapids’ prodigal son?
The Rapids remain tight-lipped. They declined to comment Friday when asked if fans could expect to see more of Rapidman in 2016.
Time will tell.
One thing is for sure: RapidMan would be an instant upgrade, and vault the Rapids upward in the . Last season, one of the Rapids many other mascots, Edson the Eagle, ranked fourth among Colorado mascots.
