A vehicle used by a convicted police impersonator will be shredded on Thursday, Denver police said.
Robert Montoya was pulled over in LoDo in September by a Denver police detective and was of impersonating a police officer.
In November, Montoya pleaded guilty in Denver District Court to impersonating an officer. He was sentenced to 18 months probation and order to pay fines and court costs of $1,500. He was also sentenced to community service.
“As part of the Nuisance Abatement Law, the car was seized and now will be shredded to pieces,” Denver police said Wednesday in a media release.
The car, a late model Chevrolet Impala, will be shredded at Iron and Metals, Inc., in Denver.
The Chevy was equipped with a light kit, a laptop mounted on a stand, and a scanner radio. The equipment will also be destroyed, police said.
Thursday is also Montoya’s birthday. He is 48.
