Getting your player ready...

CalAtlantic Homes, continuing the legacies of Ryland and Standard Pacific Homes and ranked as one of the nation’s largest builders, has a final opportunity on view in Candelas, the 1,450-acre sustainably designed community off Indiana Street in Arvada. This weekend, you can tour some of the last nine Standard Pacific-branded homes that will ever be offered there, including the builders’ 2,409-square-foot ranch model show home coming on the market — with 3-car garage, walkout basement, and loads of upgrades.

“Everything about this (neighborhood) is crazy good,” one Standard Pacific Homes resident in Candelas told me, as I was ready to tour the model. Aside from the eye-catching community pool center close to the neighborhood, residents like the very active social scene. “You can be really social here, or not at all,” the resident added, noting that either way, Candelas has a quieter, more private feel to it than other new home areas on the west side of Arvada.

You’ll see a $3 million Swim & Fitness Club powered by 15 kilowatts of solar energy, walking distance from Standard Pacific’s final nine homes; along with the parks linked by trails to 193 acres of community open space; and just beyond, 6,400-acre Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge set to open this year. Candelas also accesses one of the best full-range school offerings in the state: 10-for-10-star rated Meiklejohn Elementary, along with 7-star Wayne Carle Middle, and 10-for-10 Ralston Valley High. A K-through-8 school opens inside Candelas next year.

With all of that, the Standard Pacific-branded ranch show home has been hugely popular – and this is a last chance to tour as it comes up for sale, designer appointments included; and to see a few others that are ready now. That includes a ranch, like the model, with a 4-car garage and a finished walkout level that hugely amplifies the living space; on a 10,000-foot corner lot. It’s at $639,900.

You can tour another ranch adjacent to a pond at $541,419; and a family-sized 4-bedroom home with upstairs laundry and a 3-car side-load garage, on track for May move-in at $581,621. Remaining homes have tech-center spaces off the kitchen, additional home offices, and exceptionally high ceilings. In keeping with Candelas’ sustainability, you’ll find 1.4 kilowatts of solar on the roof, rendered even more effective by Energy Star 3.0 conservation design.

And be sure to ask about the newest release of super-popular Ryland-branded Perspectives 4000 series homes, opening near Candelas’ second pool/rec center – drawing exceptional numbers of buyers from Boulder now, just 12 minutes via Highway 93 from Table Mesa. To visit from Arvada, take Indiana north from W. 64th three miles to Candelas Parkway. Or if coming from U.S. 36, take Interlocken south past Flatiron Crossing Colo. 128, turn west to Indiana, then head south.
