A former Westminster school bus driver who was arrested earlier this month was charged Friday with Internet crimes involving a child.

Phillip John Ogren, 66, according to the Weld County District Attorney’s Office, faces charges of Internet sexual exploitation, Internet luring of a child, and attempted sexual assault on a child.

All of the charges are felonies.

Ogren allegedly posted an ad on Craigslist soliciting sex, according to prosecutors.

An agent with the Department of Homeland Security came across the ad and began communicating with Ogren posing as a 14-year old male,” Friday’s media release said.

Ogren and the undercover agent arranged a March 8 meeting in Evans, where the .

At the time of the arrest, Ogren was a school bus driver for Westminster Public Schools. Ogren was placed on leave following his arrest.

Ogren’s next Weld County District Court appearance is scheduled on May 2.
