Fresh off his “Dancing With the Stars” appearance with teammate Von Miller, Broncos safety T.J. Ward made the rounds on NFL Network on Tuesday to discuss, again, Denver’s world championship season as well as their roster changes in free agency.

While a pair of losses on the defensive side — Malik Jackson, Danny Trevathan — might have been expected, Brock Osweiler’s defection to Houston surprised many, including Ward. Coupled with Peyton Manning’s retirement, the Broncos went from a Super Bowl-winning team to one in need of a quarterback.

With few options on the open market, the Broncos signed Mark Sanchez to provide some insurance and create competition at the position. Although Sanchez said he’s eager to vie for the starting job, Ward doesn’t seem sold on Sanchez leading the Broncos’ offense next season.

“Whenever you don’t have a quarterback, it’s going to impact a team,” . “But defensively, we have one mindset: No one scores. So (if) we continue to do that, continue to prepare and dominate on the defensive side, then we’ll be all right. But we got to find someone back there. Right now I think we have Mark Sanchez signed and, um, he … he has some experience in this league (laughs).”

More , who continues to look at multiple options for bringing in another quarterback via trade (Colin Kaepernick, Brian Hoyer, Mike Glennon) or free agency (Robert Griffin III, Ryan Fitzpatrick).

Elway isn’t rushing the process, and his track record is enough assurance for Ward.

“Whatever Mr. Elway does upstairs, we have complete faith in what he’s done,” Ward said. “Just looking forward to getting the next season going.”
