Six years after it was proposed, a 65-acre southside Colorado Springs business park envisioned as a home for corporate data centers is closer to landing its first user.

The developers of T5@Colorado — formerly the Vineyard Data Center Park — are negotiating with a company that’s poised to make “a significant investment” in the local economy through the construction of a data center, said Colorado Springs contractor Vince Colarelli, who proposed the business park in 2010.

Colarelli and his partners have asked city planners for permission to combine several lots to accommodate a 10-acre data center.

T5@Colorado, on the former Vineyards Golf Course and Pikes Peak Vineyards winery, was planned as an $800 million campus, with five to 10 corporate data centers totaling 800,000 square feet. The Gazette
