Kathleen Mullen shovels heavy, wet snow on March 24. She was clearing a path to access her driveway and trying to prevent an ice dam from forming. Denver has decided not to plow side streets buried by the blizzard on March 23. (Andy Cross, The Denver Post)
Re: Denver blizzard effects linger as Front Range braces for round two, March 25 news story.
I couldn t help but laugh when I read Denver Public Works spokesperson Nancy Kuhn s comment that Denver s residential plows — light trucks — were not equipped to handle this kind of snow. I wonder, what type of vehicle does she think my homeowners association — and I imagine most homeowners associations — used to clear our drives and parking areas this past storm? Light trucks. And they did a pretty decent job, too.
