
1 Scanner poached. A Kellogg’s employee was placing an inventory order March 7 for
King Soopers, 2205 W. Wildcat Reserve Parkway, Highlands Ranch, when his handheld inventory scanner was stolen. He left the scanner in a bag in one aisle, went to the back of the store to set up a product display for 20 minutes and, when he came back, the scanner was gone.
2 Bad bill buys burgers. The manager of Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, 900 Sgt. Jon Stiles Drive, Highlands Ranch, on March 8 reported that when counting the drive-through cash drawer she found a $20 bill that felt weird. She realized it had no watermark and was fake.
3 Earbud bandit. A man visited
Sprint,870 Cpl. Max Donahue Lane, Highlands Ranch, on March 4 and asked a clerk about a headset that was not in stock. When the employee went to look up other stores that might carry it, the man then ripped $130 earbuds off a display rack, left the store and drove off. No license plate number was seen.
4 Funny money fraud. Police arrested a suspect for passing counterfeit bills at a specialty store in the 18300 block of Lincoln Avenue, Parker, on March 17.
5 Scary window whacking. A couple were driving by JP’s Asian Bistro, 8351 N. Rampart Range Road, Roxborough, on March 5 when a fist-sized object struck the passenger-side window. The window did not shatter, but the object left a 4-inch hole in it. The couple drove the car home before calling police. They never saw what hit them. The damage was estimated at $1,000.
