
1 Plan backfires. A man who called police March 16 to report a dispute over a parking spot in the 1500 block of Glen Ayr Drive, Lakewood, was hoping to get the other driver ticketed, but instead was issued a summons for disorderly conduct. Witnesses said the man verbally confronted multiple people over the disputed spot and used his body language to challenge the other driver.
2 Dog running loose. The owner of a dog found running loose March 16 in the 12400 block of West Iowa Drive, Lakewood, was issued a summons for not having it licensed.
3 DUI bust. A man pulled over Jan. 9 near West Mississippi Avenue and South Garland Way in Lakewood told officers he had “three beers and two glasses of wine” that evening before failing a roadside sobriety test. He was arrested and taken to detox.
4 No sleeping in the park. A woman who previously had been warned not to stay after hours in Morse Park, 8180 W. 20th Ave., Lakewood, was issued a summons March 17 after being found by officers sleeping in her car in the park parking lot.
5 Employee caught stealing. An employee of Ace Hardware, 12035 W. Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, was issued a summons for theft March 16. Witnesses saw him take a $220 drill out the back door and place it on the side of the building, where another man walked up and took it.
6 Domestic assault. Police arrested a man March 16 near the 600 block of Miller Court in Lakewood after his girlfriend reported he hit her and let the air out of her car tires after she refused to let him use the car.
