Dana Crawford in the new112-room hotel at Union Station, the Crawford Hotel, November 2013. It’s named in her honor, a historic preservationist and developer responsible for the development and preservation of Larimer Square in Lower Downtown Denver. (Joe Amon, The Denver Post)

Re: Glendale high-rise talk is over the top, March 23 editorial.

I was elated to see The Post put down Dana Crawford for suggesting a 60-story building in Glendale. I am a Denver native and have deplored seeing the out-of-hand building that has gone on in Denver, primarily in Cherry Creek. The city seems to overlook aesthetics as well as the need for parking. I cite the Cherry Creek Shopping Center s Restoration Hardware store that was built right out to the street, disregarding the other buildings that have been set back (which creates a more pleasing, uncrowded look).

I have long admired Crawford for the work she has done in preserving Larimer Square and helping to create a beautiful, viable city. She now appears to be in the pocket of the developers. For shame!
