Denver firefighters put out a residential fire late-Wednesday night in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

The fire, in the 900 block of Pennsylvania Street, broke out at about 9:55 p.m. in a building that houses multiple units, said Luis Cedillo, a Denver Fire Department spokesman.

One person, a man, likely in his mid-40’s, was taken to a local hospital with injuries, the fire department said.

Further details on the injured party were not immediately available.

Flames and smoke were showing from the three-story structure when firefighters first arrived. 14 people have been displaced by the fire, Cedillo said.

The fire started on the first-floor of the building. The injured man is a 2nd-floor resident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
