The Broncos will open up their 2016 preseason schedule with a date in Chicago with former coach John Fox’s Bears between Aug. 11-15.
Denver will then return home to host the 49ers Aug. 18-22. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick likely will be in one of the two jerseys. He is in the 49ers’ offseason conditioning program now, but the Broncos have interest in trading for him.
The Broncos Week 3 matchup, which is often the most important because the starters play the majority of the game, will be between Aug. 25-28 at home against the Los Angeles Rams.
Denver will conclude its preseason Sept. 1 at Arizona against the Cardinals.
Exact dates and times for Denver’s preseason schedule will be announced later this month in coordination with the NFL’s release of the complete 2016 regular-season schedule. The Broncos open their preseason on the road for the 19th time in the last 20 years.
The Broncos aren’t scheduled for any nationally televised preseason games. All will air on KTVD-Channel 20.
