A high school janitor has been arrested on suspicion of downloading child pornography on the Internet.
Tracy McDowell, 40, a janitor at Loveland High School, was arrested after investigators served a warrant Wednesday at his Milliken home, according to a Weld County Sheriff’s Office media release.
McDowell is being held at the Weld County Jail on suspicion of sexual exploitation of children.
On March 10 the sheriff’s office was informed of an e-mail transfer “that contained suspected sexually exploitative material,” the release said.
Investigators linked an e-mail address allegedly involved to McDowell.
A search warrant was executed at McDowell’s home Wednesday and investigators found about 200 digital images of child pornography.
“The images found did not indicate that McDowell was producing images, but was downloading them from the Internet,” the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators do not suspect that any Loveland High School students, or any other district students, are victims in the case.
School officials are aware of McDowell’s arrest.
