Pop’s Place, a new restaurant in the Ballpark neighborhood, is already doing brisk business in the former Lower48 space on Lawrence Street.
The casual eatery is owned by Jim Pittenger of and chef Stephen Kleinman — the father of Ian Kleinman, who owns next door.
The will bring even more fans to Pop’s Place, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“We’re very quick at putting food out,” said Kleinman. “We’ve got great burgers and huge sandwiches.”
The Hush Puppy Breakfast Sandwich is popular, but the eclectic array of menu items makes it hard to choose. Breakfast options include a range of pancakes, biscuit sandwiches, giant cinnamon rolls, avocado toast and organic oatmeal.
There are also soups, salads, such sandwiches as the Twice Cooked Pork Belly BLT, and entrees ranging from Australian Sea Bass to Pan Seared Sous Vide Rib Eye.
Specialty bowls include the Thai Bowl and Braised Red Wine Duck.
The light-filled space, bright with color, includes a cubist-style mural by Denver artist Matt O’Neill.
