1 Suspect whips towel. On April 4, Denver police responded to a disturbance at Porter Adventist Hospital, 2525 S. Downing St.
. A psychiatric patient was told his friend needed to leave, so he threw a cup of water on the ground. When he was asked to clean up the mess with a towel, he whipped the towel in the direction of the victim, hitting his hands.

2 Smoker gives false name. While on patrol on April 5, a police officer contacted two men smoking in a nonsmoking area at the Traveler’s Hotel, 4765 Federal Blvd. When asking for an ID, one man said he didn’t have it and gave a name. The name turned up a warrant and the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect then said he had lied and given his brother’s name because he thought he had an outstanding warrant.

3 Girlfriend remark gets man punched. On March 30, police responded to an assault at Urban Peak Shelter, 1630 S. Acoma St., where a man was punched by another client. The victim pointed out the suspect and said he was punched when he made a comment about the suspect’s girlfriend.

4 Woman assaulted at bus stop. A woman called police April 2 after she was assaulted near the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Broadway. The victim said she was approached by a woman and her boyfriend when that woman yelled “let’s do this,” and began attacking. The second woman threatened to kill the first woman and stab her. While making the report, the second woman called and said she had been attacked. The second woman was arrested.
