1 Pro shoplifter. A staff member at Target, 1950 E. County Line Road, Highlands Ranch, became suspicious when he saw a shopper wearing a hat with a tag on it on March 19. He watched her take electronics, including a speaker, hidden in her cart into the dressing room where he heard her unwrap it. He followed her to the door and confronted her about empty packaging left in her cart and missing items. She laughed and left in a silver SUV. He got the plate number but it didn’t match the vehicle. She stole $143 worth of goods.

2 Prying minds. On March 15, a woman noticed pry marks on the front door of her condo in the 8400 block of Little Rock Way, Highlands Ranch. She guessed someone tried to break in the day before when she and her husband were at work.

3 State of a plate. A man who just moved into the 6600 block of Pinery Villa Place, Douglas County, reported that someone had covered the rear license plate of his Jeep with red spray paint on March 19. He removed it without any damage to the plate.

4 Social Security scam. A retired woman living in the 8400 block of North Delbert Road, Douglas County, said she has been working with officials on how to collect her Social Security benefits. She called police on March 21 when it was discovered someone was already collecting for her.

5 Truck raided. Someone smashed a window on a truck parked in the 9800 block of Zenith Meridian Drive, Douglas County, overnight March 19 and stole the owner’s nail gun, two drills, a personal check, cash and other items.
