CalAtlantic’s value on ranches in master-planned Inspiration draws buyers from across Douglas County; to homes ready now

CalAtlantic Homes, continuing the legacies of Ryland and Standard Pacific to become one of the nation’s largest builders, has a rare commodity on view today at Inspiration, in the rolling countryside south of E-470 — four new ranch model homes, and a choice of spacious ranches that can be ready for move-in soon.

That’s exactly what drew Cheryl Rose-Gonzales and her husband Greg to Inspiration – who have been renting an apartment in Lone Tree, carrying out a search that began last summer for a ranch design, maybe one that backs to open space. The pair, who returned to Colorado to be closer to a new grandkid, weren’t interested in neighborhoods that are age-restricted. “We didn’t want 55-and-older,” she says. “We like being around kids.”
Now the couple is under contract for a 5A01 plan in CalAtlantic’s all-ranch enclave at Inspiration – 2,316 square feet finished, on a corner home site that will back to open space. “They’re pretty much duplicating the finish choices that we’re showing in the model of that plan,” says Dan Nickless, Colorado Division President for CalAtlantic Homes. You’ll see the 5A01 today at Inspiration, with three other models, and a choice of home sites including ones with opportunities for a walk-out lower level or that back to open space.

Along with CalAtlantic’s ranch architecture and the quick access into prime office campuses in DTC and Meridian, buyers are reacting to the chance for homes that don’t require the hassle of fixing and updating. “Even homes built ten years ago are pretty dated,” says Greg – noting that during their eight-month search, there wasn’t much out there they saw that came close to meeting their expectations.

“In the resale market, it’s pretty much a crisis now,” says Nickless, noting that the arrival of big companies like Charles Schwab to the south metro area adds more buyers to a market with too few homes. After shopping that situation, many families are willing to have CalAtlantic create a home from scratch to their specific tastes (more than 50% opt to have the builder add additional guest suites and entertaining area in a finished basement or walkout).

But CalAtlantic also has a choice selection of ranches that can deliver right away – as soon as May. That includes a 5A04 plan, with 2,735 finished square feet, three bedrooms and 3-1/2 baths, plus a study and a 3-car garage. It has a day-lit full walkout, along with a private covered patio with stone fireplace for an outdoor living experience. It backs to open space and is priced at $668,429.

You’ll also see where an Inspiration Club with resort-style pool and event lawn is under construction to open early this summer; along with parks and trails and acres of open space already in place. The Vistas at Inspiration is three miles from Parker’s historic Old Town, served by Douglas County Schools. From I-25 take E-470 east past Parker Road to Gartrell Road; exit and head south a mile to Rockinghorse Parkway, then left to Del Norte.
