
1 Drunk attacks officers. An intoxicated man police found lying on the ground and moaning April 7 in Westland Park at 10890 W. 17th Ave. in Lakewood urinated in his pants on the way to detox, where he attacked multiple officers. While being transported to jail on assault charges, he spit on officers and defecated inside his pants.
2 Beer bust. Police cited a man April 6 in the 5200 block of West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood after seeing him drink a 24-ounce can of beer on a bus bench.
3 Close call. A man was cited April 6 for a traffic infraction after he tried cutting across the 1500 block of Teller Street in Lakewood and almost got hit by a Honda Civic.
4 Secret door cut into fence. An employee of Newcomer Funeral Home at 901 S. Sheridan Blvd. in Lakewood reported to police April 6 that someone had cut a small door into a wood fence surrounding the building. She said there had been problems in the past with people trespassing through the property to access a drug house on Ames Street. Later that day, an officer noticed a man using the makeshift door. He was cited after admitting to cutting the door, saying he didn’t want people damaging the fence when they climbed over it.
5 Take your trash somewhere else. Employees of O’Reilly Auto Parts at 1955 S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood told police they wanted to charge a man they found dumping trash in their Dumpster on April 7. Police issued the man a summons for dumping on private property.
