Denver officially got 3.5 inches of snowfall overnight, the national weather service reports.

The snow is expected to continue throughout the day, turning to rain after 2 p.m., but Saturday’s accumulation is not expected to be more than an inch, according the weather service.

Saturday’s temperatures in the metro area could reach a high of 42. Sunday’s high temperature is expected to be around 40 degrees, with a chance for more rain and snow.

Elitch Gardens theme park announced it would postpone its opening day,which was supposed to be Saturday, because of the damp weather.

Operations at Denver Interntional Airport, where the snow total was officially recorded, have not significantly been impacted.

In the last day of the month, the weather service also reported April’s total snow in Denver at 15.6 inches, far higher than the average of 8.9 inches for the month.
