
PUEBLO — The beat goes on for Cheyenne Mountain. The Indians won their eighth consecutive Class 4A championship Saturday at City Park.
In totaling 85 points to easily outdistance Kent Denver (62), the Indians lost at No. 2 singles, their only finals entry in the top three slots, but swept all four doubles championships to show off their depth.
Cheyenne Mountain’s No. 1 doubles team of Ally Arenson and Casey Ahrendsen beat Kent Denver 6-3, 6-2 to officially seal the team championship.
Sun Devils freshman Josie Schaffer won the No. 1 singles crown with a 6-4, 6-2 sweep of Pueblo West junior Sara Schoenbeck.
