GREELEY — Weld County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after two men robbed a bank Friday in Severance by sending a note to a teller at the drive-through window.
Deputies were called about 4:05 p.m. Friday by an employee of the Colorado East Bank & Trust, 399 W. 4th Ave. The employee told dispatchers a white Nissan SUV had come through the drive-through and handed a teller a note demanding money. The driver then fled, heading south with an undisclosed amount of money, sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Matt Turner said.
One group of deputies found the vehicle parked outside a nearby residence, while another group of deputies secured the bank and ensured there were no injuries to anyone there.
Deputies detained two suspects, and are continuing to investigate. Turner did not release any additional information about the robbery, citing the ongoing nature of the case and the limited amount of details available.
