A second elected official in Castle Rock soon could face a recall election, as the town clerk determined Tuesday there are enough valid signatures for the ouster effort to move forward.
The clerk said 273 valid signatures had been turned in — more than the 268 needed — in support of a November recall measure for Renee Valentine, a councilwoman in District 5 who joined Town Council in 2011 and whose term expires in 2018.
Any Castle Rock voter has until May 24 to protest Valentine’s recall.

Councilman Mark Heath also has been targeted for ouster, but signatures connected to that effort have not been turned in.
