PUEBLO — Erin Sargent of Silver Creek shot a 3-over-par 75 on Monday and held the lead after the first round of the Class 4A girls golf tournament at the Pueblo Country Club.
Sargent had a one-stroke lead over Coal Creek’s Caroline Jordaan and led Air Academy’s Kelsey McKenna by two strokes. Rifle’s Elly Walters was at 6-over and Dolores’ Kiselya Piewe was at 7-over.
Colorado Academy held a commanding team lead after the first round — the Mustangs were at 28-over. Cheyenne Mountain (49-over) was in second place and Rifle (58-over) was in third.
