A man and a woman were shot in an outdoors confrontation early Thursday morning, police say.

Both people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, said Diana Cooley, Aurora police spokeswoman.

“At this point, we don’t believe the public is still in danger,” Cooley said.

Aurora police were not releasing any information about a possible suspect, including whether someone was in custody.

Police were called to the area of 17th Avenue and Chester Street at 1:17 a.m., Cooley said.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. It’s unclear how many times the woman was shot.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated as new details are available.
