
Looking back on a career that so far has spanned 51 years, one might think Weld County’s first full-time district attorney’s fondest memory would be of one of his legal triumphs.
But that isn’t the case for longtime Greeley resident Bob Miller. His fondest courtroom memory took place in 2010 while he was sitting in the gallery of a Weld District Courtroom. It was Miller’s son, Robb, who was seated at the prosecutor’s table, hoping to bring to a close one of Greeley’s oldest murder mysteries.
“I think I had gone to watch my son in court one other time – maybe in county court when he was still early in his career,” Miller said. “I never wanted Robb to think I was bugging him or critiquing him, and I didn’t want to add any extra pressure, but someone from the DA’s Office called to tell me he was about to deliver his closing argument, and they convinced me to attend.”
