Nonthreatening car thief. After parking a rental car May 22 outside his home in the 1100 block of South Racine Way, a man was approached by an unknown, unarmed man who asked for the keys to the car but did not try to hurt or threaten the man. The victim handed the keys over and the thief drove off.

Coworker swipes cash. An employee of the IHOP at 13700 E. Mississippi Ave. called police on May 21 because one of the other waiters at the restaurant found his wallet lying around and decided to take $12 cash from inside it. The incident was caught on camera, and the suspect was ticketed.

Break-in. Police were called to the 1600 block of North Pitkin Street on May 18 because someone broke into a woman’s home and stole several hundred dollars worth of jewelry and electronics. Witnesses saw a man loading things into a car outside, but no one called police.

Stolen bike. A man parked his bike May 24 outside the Aurora Central Library at 14949 E. Alameda Parkway and went inside for 30 minutes without locking the bike. The bike was gone when he came back outside.

Missing parts. An employee of Thout Brothers Concrete called police to an active construction site May 24 in the 24600 block of East Applewood Drive because someone stole a breaker attachment out of a skid-steer loader.

Suspicious vandalism. A man reported May 24 that someone damaged his car while it was parked outside the Gardens of Havana at 10600 E. Garden Drive. The victim said this is the third incident of vandalism to his car recently.
