Interview with Ron Abbott, co-founder

Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: My brother Jason (and now business partner) and I started homebrewing together in 1992. We loved the different beers that microbrewers were creating and we loved the homebrewing hobby and culture. Years later, I was having a conversation with Frank (and now business partner) about his job on the distribution side of the beer business. Over the course of several years (and several beers), the three of us decided to start our own brewery.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: While you’ll see a variety of beer styles on tap at Seedstock Brewery, we are most passionate about beers that our ancestors made when they immigrated to America from Germany and Czechoslovakia.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: The communities that breweries help bring together is incredibly fulfilling.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Determining what style to brew next. Our favorite beer is always the next beer!

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Our wives really don’t like beer that much.
