
Denver temperatures could soar to hit 90 degrees and higher Saturday afternoon.
on Friday, but temperatures didn’t go higher than that at Denver International Airport, the official measuring location. Saturday, the forecast expects the high to reach around 91 degrees.
The temperatures are far from record-hitting, however. The hottest June 11 in Denver according to the National Weather Service was in 2013 when temperatures hit 100 degrees.
And with 17 days of 90 degrees or higher — including a stretch of five days where temperatures reached 100 or more.
A similar streak is not expected this week, as temperatures dip back into the 80s by Sunday with a possibility of the high being as low as 78 on Tuesday.
Saturday’s forecast also calls for a 20 percent chance of isolated storms after 2 p.m. Sunday the chance for storms rises to 40 percent.
