Bear sightings in southwest Denver on Thursday

Anyone who sees the bear should call Denver police.

Denver police officers responded to bear sightings Thursday in southwest Denver.

Officers didn’t find the bear in the morning and left the area at about 7:30 a.m., said police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez.The bear was spotted in the 4500 block of South Ammons Street, she said. Police searched areas around the 4800 block of South Ammons as well.

About 2 p.m., a bear was seen near Southwest Plaza Mall at Wadsworth and Bowles Avenue. It was not clear if it was the same bear.

Anyone who sees the bear should call Denver police.
